Our Technology
One reason that cancer is difficult to combat is that the body does not always recognize cancer cells as "foreign" to the body. This lack of recognition prevents the immune system from mounting a defense of the body and the cancer is allowed to grow unchecked. If a product were developed that could "switch on" the immune system and inform it that a tumor is indeed foreign then the body's own defense mechanisms could be effectively used against the tumor. In DCV's case, we are developing vaccines designed to signal, or switch on, the patient's immune system to fight and defeat the cancer.
Summary of Technology:
- Exclusively licensed rights to 14 known tumor antigens expressed by cancers of the reproductive tract and breast cancer
- Patent portfolio includes 14 domestic patents, 6 foreign patents, and 31 pending filings
- License includes the first rights to license new technology in the field of cancer vaccines from UAMS
- Sound process for producing dendritic cell-based vaccines has been developed
- Our vaccines show high selectivity for attacking targeted diseases
- Our vaccines exhibit low toxicity, minimal side-effects and higher quality of life
